The competition is fierce. How can you take control and find out the status of the applications you have submitted? Of course, you want to be the one who gets the job when you apply for a position. How can you follow up on your job application and make sure that you get the job?
How to follow up
1. Make sure you have control over all the applications you have submitted. Save job advertisements and contact persons for the various positions, then you have everything easily available if you have to follow up the process or are called for an interview.
2. It may take time to process all applications for a position You should at least receive electronic feedback that your application has been received. If you have not received an e-mail or telephone that the application has been received (within a reasonable time after the deadline), you can call the contact person for the position to check why you have not heard anything.
3. Do not call just to call, what you ask for must be relevant (and not mentioned in the ad). Prepare well for the conversation, because it can be crucial. If everyone calls without a goal or meaning, the process will take longer than necessary, and one can be perceived as fussy.
4. Everyone who is eligible for an interview for a position should expect to hear from the employer within a week of the application deadline.
5. If you do not hear anything within a reasonable time after the application deadline, feel free to call to check the status. Maybe the process has been delayed for various reasons, or maybe you should have been rejected?
What do you do if you are rejected for a position?
Accept it and do nothing more out of it.
2. If you have conducted an interview or test, you can still ask for feedback on why you were not relevant, and feel free to ask what you should think about next time.
Inform that you are interested in similar positions if something fits your profile. You never know what doors may open if you make a good impression.
Do not sit and wait, be active and follow for yourself.
Good luck!
